John Chapman
Cloquet, Minn. – Services for John E. [Edward] (Skip) Chapman, formerly of Estherville, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Cloquet with the body going to Estherville for 11 a.m. services Saturday at the Fuhrman Funeral Chapel. He died Monday in St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Friday.

He was born Feb. 4, 1917 at Ft. Dodge, the son of Leslie and Vivian Chapman; received his education in the Estherville schools. He was employed by the Northern Natural Gas Co. for the past 34 years, working in the Superior office before transferring to Cloquet.

Chapman served with the Army Air Corp Engineers in the China-India Theatre in World War Two and was a member of the Cloquet Veterans of Foreign Wars Post.

Survivors include his sister Maxine (Mrs. Chester Brown) Estherville; aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Richard who was killed in World War Two. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 11, 1982)
