Services for Mrs. William (Leona Lydia) Carrison, 72, will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel at Estherville with the Rev. Cilff Vander Burgh officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Monday, July 29, 1991 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-9 p.m. Thursday.

She was born Feb. 15, 1919 at Estherville the daughter of William and Marie (Werling) Helmich and attended Dolliver, Maple Hill, Emmet County Schools. March 29, 1936 she married William Carrison at Spirit Lake. She lived her entire life in Estherville and had worked for Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville several years, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Estherville.

Survivors include her husband, William; three sons: Harold, Tulsa, Okla.; Dennis, Omaha, Neb. and William Jr., Overland Park, Kans.; four daughters: Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Weir, Mrs. Gary (LaVonne) Killmer, Estherville; Marlene Dunford, Overland Park, Kans,; Mrs. Tom (Shirley) Linn, Wallingford, Conn.; 18 grandchildren; two brothers: Floyd and William Helmich, Estherville and one sister, Eldora Olson, Armstrong.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son; one daughter and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 31, 1991)
