Estherville – Graveside services for Mrs. Emil (Edna) Carlson, 93, of South Portland, Maine, formerly of Estherville, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at East Side Cemetery in Estherville, with the Rev. Dr. John Besore, III officiating. She died Wednesday, May 4, 1994 at South Portland Nursing Home.

Visitation will be at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville from 1-2 p.m. Sunday.

She was born Oct. 4, 1900 in Ottowa, Ill., the daughter of William and Selena (Toms) Simpson and attended and graduated from Estherville High School. She also attended 4-years college in Des Moines. On Nov. 15, 1922 she married Emil C. Carlson in Estherville. She lived her married life in Des Moines until 1965 when they moved to Sarasota, Fla. She has recently been living in South Portland, Me.

Survivors include two granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 7, 1994)
