Estherville – Funeral services for Lois Andrews, 88, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2001 at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home Chapel in Estherville with the Reverend Neal Armstrong officiating. Interment will be held at East Side Cemetery in Estherville. She died on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2001 at Rosewood Manor in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born on April 16, 1912 in Gruver, the daughter of Eugene and Mabel (Shaw) Pickell. She received her education in the Gruver schools.

On May 15, 1930, she was united in marriage to Norman Andrews in Jackson, Minn. The couple lived in the Gruver area their entire life. She was employed as a cook at the Gruver schools. She was later employed with Lyon’s Bakery and then Red Owl Baker for several years.

She enjoyed playing cards and also bingo. She was a member of the Gruver Presbyterian Church, Gruver Presbyterian Women and the V.F.W. Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, Lloyd and his wife, Beverly of Estherville and Ronald of Butte, Mont.; three daughters, Donnabelle Higgins and her husband, Harold of Holden, Mo., Bernice Gorham and her husband, Linus of Algona and Sharon Theesfeld and her husband, Dennis of Armstrong; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, one grandson, seven sisters and four brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 16, 2001)
