Spirit Lake – Services are pending for Olive Anderson, 76, of Estherville at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. She died Sunday, July 7, at the Dickinson County Medical Center in Spirit Lake. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 8, 1991)

Estherville – Services for Olive C. [Catherine] Anderson, 76, rural Estherville, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at First Christian Church with the Rev. Steve Allen officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Sunday, July 7, 1991 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Spirit Lake. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born March 5, 1915 at Spirit Lake, the daughter of James and Stena (Omundson) Cline and when her mother died she lived with an aunt and uncle, Harry and Eva Jones in Estherville where she attended school. On April 30, 1933 she was united in marriage with Lars Anderson at Sioux City. She had worked at the Garston [Gardston] Café and Good Samaritan Center and has lived all her married life in the Estherville area.

She was a member of First Christian Church where she served on several committees, sang in the choir, service chairman, taught Sunday School, served as president of CWF. She was a past Chapter, State and National president of the Service Star Legion; past president of American Legion Auxiliary and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Lars; three sons: Doug, Leo and Larry all of Estherville; six daughters: Mrs. Arnie (Leota) Hall, Butterfield, Minn.; Mrs. David (Nancy) Kautz, Buford, Ga.; Mrs. Vic (Linda) Brown, Estherville; Mrs. Oscar (Ellen) White, Flower Mound, Texas; Mrs. Roger (Ruth) Tobin, Lewisville, Texas; Mrs. Randy (Norma) Beaver, Estherville; 25 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 10, 1991)
