Ronald Weigand, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Weigand, passed away on last Monday [January 19, 1925] afflicted with diabetes. He was a student in the High school and was a bright and popular boy in school. The funeral services were held from the home on Thursday afternoon at two o’clock and the remains will be laid to rest in Oak Hill cemetery. Ronald Wiegand is Seriously Ill But Few Days Before Untimely Death
Ronald Vernon Weigand, eighteen year [old] son of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Weigand, and a member of the senior class in Estherville High School, passed away early Tuesday morning. He had not been seriously ill until the week before his death, attending school regularly until that time. His death was caused by mellitus diabetis.Ronald came here in 1920 with his parents and entered school here at that time. He was born on a farm in Osceola county on March 29, 1906 and lived there and in Hartley until moving to Estherville.
He was a quiet unassuming disposition but a young man who was greatly loved by those who grew to know him. He was a bright student and an able helper for his father in the Estherville Oil Company station.
Funeral services will be held from the home this afternoon. The members of the senior class of the High School will attend in a body, and the burial services at Oak Hill cemetery will be conducted by the Estherville Chapter Order of De Molay of which the deceased was an honored member.
