Local Happenings in the Month of August 1941: B.F. [Benjamin Franklin] Westbrook, 71, passed away in the Coleman hospital on Friday evening, August 8, from a long time illness. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 11, 1942)
Mr. and Mrs. I.F. Peacock were in Estherville Monday to attend the funeral of B.F. Westbrook, which was held at the Mahlum and Anderson funeral home that afternoon. Mr. Westbrook, father of Frank Westbrook, son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. Peacock passed away Saturday morning at 8 o’clock at the Estherville hospital. Mrs. M.E. Carnahan of Superior is a daughter of the deceased. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, August 14, 1941)
