Services for Mrs. Hazel Mae Weir, 83, Estherville, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel Estherville, with the Rev. John Bowe officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Monday, May 20, 1985 at Milder Manor, Lincoln, Neb.

Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville.
She was born Feb 3, 1902, in Kennebec County, Minn., the daughter of Fred and Sarah (Shaw) Rokenbrodt, and received her education in Wallingford, where she moved as a young girl, and Estherville. On June 17, 1920, she was united in marriage with Francis Gene Weir at Estherville. The couple lived and farmed in Dunnell, Minn., and Estherville areas. She was employed by Harmon Veldey in his Fashion Shop, the Joyce Lumber Company, and Heneman Motor Company. The couple enjoyed their summer home at Ash River Trail, Orr, Minn. She had lived in Lincoln, Neb., for several years where her daughter Carol, lives. She was afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, American Legion Auxiliary, of which she was a past president, Wa-Tan-Ye club and past school board member of the Emmet Consolidated School.

Survivors include two sons, Frederick D. Weir, Green Spring, Wis., George L. Weir, Swarthmore, Pa.; two daughters, Mrs. Maurice (Perl) Larson, rural Estherville, Carol Kendle, Lincoln, Neb.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; one brother, Floyd Rokenbrodt, Humboldt and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Sawvell, Weslaco, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis on Aug 13, 1977, her parents and one brother, Dwight. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 22, 1985)
