Estherville – Francis Warrington, 62, Estherville, died Monday [May 1, 1978] at Holy Family Hospital. Services for Mr. Warrington are pending at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 2, 1978)

Estherville – Services for Francis Robert Warrington, 62, Estherville, will be held at 1:30 p.m., May 4, at the Estherville Christian Church. The Rev. Jim Harmon will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, is in charge of arrangements. Friends may call at the funeral home until 11:30 a.m. Thursday when the body will be taken to the church.

Mr. Warrington died Monday, May 1 at Holy Family Hospital, Estehrville.

The son of William H. and Ada (Gipson) Warrington, Mr. Warrington was born Nov. 15, 1915, at Estherville. He received his education in Estherville.

In October 1941 Mr. Warrington enlisted in the Army Air Corps and served in Italy during World War II. He received eight bronze stars for European campaigns.

He was married to Arvella Danielson on Oct. 11, 1942, at Spokane, Wash.

Following World War II, Mr. Warrington moved to Spencer. He returned to Estherville in 1947 and worked for the Rock Island Lines as a fireman for eight years and as an engineer for 20 years. He retired in 1975 after 28 years with the railroad.

Mr. Warrington was a member of the Estherville Christian Church where he served as an elder. He also was a member of the American Legion and the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers.

Mr. Warrington is survived by his wife, Arvella, Estherville, one son, Robert, Anamosa, one daughter, Mrs. Steve (Betty) Crim, Oklahoma City, Okla., and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 3, 1978)
