George William (Bill) Walz
1924-1980
Funeral services for George William (Bill) Walz, 56, Estherville, were conducted Sunday, May 25, 1980, at the Henry and Olson Funeral Chapel, Estherville, with Pastor R.B. Flentgen officiating.

Interment followed in the Oak Hill Cemetery, with Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, in charge of arrangements. Mr. Walz died Friday afternoon, May 23, at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

He was born Feb. 11, 1924, at Fenton, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Walz. He was educate in Estherville, where he graduated from high school in 1944. He remained single and has lived in Estherville since 1935. He was employed by various hotels.

He was afflicted with muscular dystrophy and had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville, for the past four years. He served during World War II and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Estherville.

Mr. Walz is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Glen (Helen) Yackle, Estherville, and Mrs. Merlyn (Arleen) Wee, Estherville; and one brother, Hilbert Walz, Arnolds Park.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. (Milford Mail & Terril Record, Milford, IA, May 29, 1980)
