Obituary of Johanna Miller
Miss Johanna Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, Adrian, Minn., was born July 23rd, 1904, at Reading, Minn. and died May 2, 1926, at Estherville, Iowa, aged 21 years, 9 months, 9 days. She was taken ill March 27 of appendicitis, and underwent an operation at Coleman hospital. She recovered sufficiently to be taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. E.M. Hout, where she remained 11 days. Friday of last week she was again taken suddenly ill, and removed to the hospital where she was operated upon a second time, but from which she failed to recover. She passed quietly out of this life Sunday morning at 5:30.

Miss Miller had been employed for three months previous to her death at the East Side Café. She leaves to mourn her loss, her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, and seven sisters and four brothers: Mrs. H.F. Steinman, Mrs. E.M. Houts and Mrs. Charlie Jones of Estherville, Iowa; John Miller and Herman of Hartley, Iowa; Hermina, Hiram, Heye, Anna, Margaret and Louise, all at home.

The funeral service was held at the E.M. Houts home Sunday afternoon at four, in charge of Mr. Allen, Rev. W.F. Huxford, officiating. The body was taken on the morning train Monday to the parental home at Adrian for interment.

Miss Miller will be greatly missed in Estherville, where he quiet sweet manner made her a friend to all who knew her. She has been a member of the Baptist Sunday School, attending the Philethia Class. They honored her by attending the funeral in a body. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, May 5, 1926)
