Estherville – Mrs. Harmon (Dee) Veldey, 66, Estherville, died Sunday [January 21, 1979] at Holy Family Hospital.

Services for Mrs. Veldey will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Estherville Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Harvey Throop officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home, Estherville, after noon Tuesday until 10 a.m. Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church. The casket will not be opened at the church.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Simpson, Delores was born March 31, 1912, at Claremont. She came to Estherville with her parents in 1920, graduated from Estherville High School in 1929 and from Estherville Junior College in 1931.

She was married to Harmon Veldey on July 6, 1933, at Sisseton, S.D., and the couple made their home in Estherville.

Mrs. Veldey was a member of the Presbyterian Church, PEO, Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution.

She is survived by her husband, Harmon, Estherville; two sons, Gary Veldey, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc., an John Veldey, Marshalltown; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Veldey was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 22, 1979)
