Estherville – Services for Anton (Tony) Stam, 70, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with Rev. James Harmon officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. He died Saturday [June 5, 1982] in University Hospital at Iowa City.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today (Monday) and Tuesday until time of service.

Stam was born Oct. 12, 1911 at Ledyard, his parents were Mr. and Mrs. William Stam. He attended Ledyard and Estherville schools. On Dec. 31, 1935 he was married to Marjorie Scott in Estherville. They farmed southwest of Estherville until moving to Estherville a few years ago.

He was a member of the Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife Marjorie, and a son Gary of Estherville; a daughter, Mrs. Pete (Shirley) Buffer, Jr. of Iowa City; one granddaughter, Jamison Lee Buffer; four sisters, Mrs. Floyd Hoffmeyer, Petersburg; Mrs. Richard Hoffmeyer, Estherville, Mrs. Lyman Fox, Aikin, Minn., and Mrs. Earl Hoffmeyer, Armstrong.

He was preceded in death by a son, parents, one brother and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 7, 1982)
