Mrs. Errie Vreelandaf [Erick Viland] Ellsworth township died on Friday last, of consumption. The deceased was a woman of some forty years and leaves a husband and a family of children to mourn her death. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, January 23, 1890)

Mrs. E.P. Viland [Britha Weeks] died at her home in Ellsworth township last week of consumption. The funeral services were held Sunday. She has been a sufferer from this dread disease for a long time but endured the pain with patience and fortitude. The whole community joins in tender sympathy for the bereaved family.
