Sophia Snyder Final Services on Saturday
Mrs. Sophia Snyder, 87, of Estherville who died early Thursday morning at Holy Family Hospital, had been in failing health for the past year and had been hospitalized since April 3.

She was born Jan. 27, 1882, on a farm northeast of Estherville, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Olson. She received her education in rural Emmet County schools and taught for a number of years in rural schools of Emmet County before her marriage March 9, 1925, to Henry Snyder at Wallingford.

She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran church where she was active in the women’s organizations.

Mrs. Snyder is survived by a foster sister, Mrs. Anna Stewart of Chicago, and a number of cousins, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Reese-Henry chapel in Estherville, the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
