Funeral Services Held for Mrs. Lyle H. Skow
Violet Helen Skow, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Otto Rick, was born on Aug. 28, 1919. She died Friday evening, Dec. 10, 1954 of a sub-arachnoid hemorrhage.

Born at Erie, N.D., she later moved to Perham and F--- , Minn. and then came to Iowa in 1930. She lived in the High Lake area until her marriage to Lyle M. Skow on Nov. 3, 1940, when they moved to Estherville where she lived until the time of death.

To this union three children were born: Marvin Lyle, 13; ViAnn Helen, 12 and Sheryl Ann born Dec. 9. 1954.

Suvivors include besides her husband and three children two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Edmunds and Mrs. Elmer Brix of Estherville; and three brothers, Bernard, Gordon and John Rick, all of Estherville.

Funeral services were held Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. in her parent church, the First Presbyterian church of Estherville, with the Rev. Thomas G. Mellon officiating. Burial was in the Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 20, 1954)
