Rites for Lorraine Claire Sawyer to Be at Estherville
Cedar Falls – Funeral services for Lorraine Claire Sawyer, 14, daughter of Chaplain and Mrs. Fred Sawyer, Estherville, who died at Sarton Memorial hospital Friday [August 17, 1945] at 11:30 p.m. after an extended illness, will be at Estherville Tuesday afternoon. The body is at the Dahl funeral home here.Mrs. Sawyer and her daughter came to Cedar Falls three months ago and lived at 611 Seerley boulevard.
Born Sept. 30, 1930, at Des Moines, she is survived by her parents and several brothers and sisters. (Waterloo Daily Courier, Waterloo, IA, August 19, 1945)

Lorraine Sawyer
Lorraine Sawyer, 15, daughter of Chaplain and Mrs. Fred Sawyer of Estherville, died Friday [August 17, 1945] in a hospital in Cedar Falls after an illness of six weeks, which began while visiting in Cedar Falls. Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother, Willard in the navy and three sisters, Mrs. John McCurdy of Seymour and Helen and Hilda at home. Chaplain Sawyer arrived from the west coast Thursday. Funeral services and burial were made at Estherville. (Marion Sentinel, Marion, IA, August 30, 1945)
