Funeral services for Margaret E. Rouse, 83, of Spirit Lake, were held Monday, July 25, 1983, 10 a.m., at the Donovan-Leyson Funeral Home, in Spirit Lake, with Rev. Warren Paige officiating. Rouse died Thursday, July 21, 1983, at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, in Spirit Lake, of a prolonged illness.

Margery Redington was organist. Pallbearers were Ronnie, Sam, Andy and Mike Resch. Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, in Estherville.

Margaret E. Rouse was born Aug. 25, 1899, at Algona, Ia., the daughter of Benjamin and Luella Moulton Nicol [Nichol]. She resided in Dubuque, Iowa City and Bellevue, Ia. She graduated from the Estherville High School and the nursing school at Dubuque.

On April 30, 1933 she married Eldon C. Rouse at Clarksdale, Miss. The couple resided in New Mexico, Tennessee, North Dakota and Arkansas. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, in Spirit Lake.

Survivors include her husband, Eldon, of Spirit Lake, one sister, Mrs. Leonard (Bernice) Bergman, of Spirit Lake, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Mrs. LeRoy (Ruth) Light.
