Funeral services for Pearl Viola Robinson, 87, of Estherville, were held Saturday, June 18, 1983, 10:30 a.m., at the First Christian Church, with Dr. James Harmon officiating. Mrs. Robinson died Wednesday, June 15, 1983, at the Good Samaritan Center, in Estherville.
Pear Viola Robinson was born July 25, 1895 in Estherville to William Henry Riley and Nellie Linkenfelter. She attended school in Estherville.
On Nov. 20, 1912 she married Charles J Robinson at Estherville. Mrs. Robinson lived in Estherville all of her life. She played the pipe organ at the Grand Theatre as the silent films were shown. She served as organist for the Grace Episcopal Church, the First Christian Church and various civic groups. She was employed as a bookeeper at the Estherville Drug Store for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Charles J., of Estherville; one son, Charles William Robinson and daughter-in-law, Mary Catherine, of Spirit Lake; grandson, Charles Alan Robinson and grand daughter-in-law, Ann Robinson, of Denver, Colo.; three great grandchildren, Jeffery, Susan and Megan Robinson, of Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Grace Ghoslin. Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery. The Henry and Olson Funeral Home, in Estherville, was in charge of arrangements. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, June 23, 1983)
