Spirit Lake – Services for Mary Jeanne Peterson, 66, of Spirit Lake were held Monday at Turner Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. She died Saturday, June 20, 1992 at Hilltop Care Center in Spirit Lake. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Estherville.

She was born May 9, 1926 at Lakefield, Minn., the daughter of Russell O. and Corrine E. Peterson. She completed 8th grade in Estherville and in 1972 moved to Spirit Lake from Estherville.

She is survived by three sisters: Barbara Tollefson and Nadine Johnson, Arnolds Park; and Nancy Houchins, Ogden; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Jeanne Peterson, Spirit Lake, were 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, 1992 at Turner Funeral Home, Spirit Lake. Rev. James Quitno officiated. Music was provided by Beverly Berquist.

Pallbearers were Jim Houchins, Mike Houchins, Greg Johnson, Rick Johnson, Chuck Mize and Jeff Tollefson.

Jeanne was born May 9, 1926 in Lakefield, MN to Russell O. and Corrine E. Peterson. She grew up in Estherville and moved to Spirit Lake in 1972. She liked to paint, do beadwork, read and work on crafts.

Ms. Peterson, 66, died Saturday, June 20, at the Hilltop Care Center, Spirit Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include three sisters, Barbara Tollefson, Arnolds Park, Nancy Houchins, Ogden and Nadine Johnson, Arnolds Park; nieces, Laura Tollefson Bouard, Foristel, MO, Susan Tollefson Hickerson, Kansas City, MO, Laura Houchins Mendez, Austin, TX, Lynn Johnson, Ft. Collins, CO; nephews, Michael Houchins, Ames, Jeffrey Tollefson, Des Moines and Gregory Johnson, Des Moines.

Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. Turner Funeral Home, Spirit Lake, was in charge of arrangements. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, June 25, 1992)
