Services for Pearle [Mildred] Osher, 81, Sunset Beach, Arnolds Park, and Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., were Friday, April 20, 1990, at the Chapel By The Sea, Ft. Myers Beach.

Mrs. Osher died Monday, April 16, at a Ft. Myers hospital.

She was born Dec. 14, 1908, at Graettinger to Charley and Mamie (Paulsen) Jensen. She graduated from Graettinger High School and the University of Iowa. She did graduate work at the University of Iowa and the Chicago Art Institute. She taught science at Fairmont, Minn.

She married Dr. Julius B. Osher Dec. 29, 1937. They lived in Estherville except for Dr. Osher’s military service during WWII. They retired to the lakes area and Florida in 1982.

Mrs. Osher was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a Sunday School teacher, taught Bible classes for many years, searved on the church’s executive board, was church trustee and served on numerous committees.

She was a member of Chapter A.Y. P.E.O., a member of the American Association of University Women and enjoyed working for various community projects in Estherville.

Her lifelong interest was nature and birding. She was a member of the Iowa Ornithology Union, the Northern Iowa Prairie Lakes Audubon Society, the National Audubon Society and the Ft. Myers Caloosa Bird Club of Florida.

She served on the board of the Okoboji Yacht Club for many years and was secretary for the organization.

Survivors include her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Jack (Annette) Neighbor, Arnolds Park, and Mrs. W.F. Hinrichs, Mankato, Minn.; nieces, Mrs. Duane Zahradnik, Pompano Beach, Fla., and Arnolds Park, Mrs. Robert Carlson, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, and Mrs. Ryan Hansen, Fairfax, Va.; nephews, Lawrence Jensen, Sioux City and James D. Jensen, Arnolds Park; many grand-nieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her brother, Lawrence Jensen.
