Estherville – Memorial services for Helen Fay Osher, 84, will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Neal Armstrong of Gruver Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 1989 at the Good Samaritan Center. There will be no visitation.

She was born Oct. 16, 1904 at Graettinger, the daughter of Bert and Jedie (Jones) Osher. She attended Estherville School; Coe College, Cedar Rapids and received a B.A. degree from Grinnell College in 1927. She also attended the University of Minnesota, University of Wisconsin, Middlebury College, Vt. For graduate study; her field was in French, English and Spanish languages. She taught in many schools and University of Wisconsin as well as tutoring in French and Spanish; including the English language for immigrants from Vietnam. She was a member of the Church of Larger Fellowship of Unitarian-Universalist,.

Survivors include a sister Mrs. Wilbert (Harriet) Hinrichs, Mankato, Minn.; sister-in-law, Mrs. Pearl Osher, Ft. Myers Beach, Fla.; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to the Estherville Public Library as a memorial to her parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 26, 1989)
