Funeral services for Larry Leland Murray, 43, of Galt, Calif., and formerly of the Estherville-Lakes Region area, were held Thursday, May 21, 10:30 a.m., at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home in Estherville with the Father Albert O. Grendler, of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, officiating.

Murray died Sunday night, May 17, as a result of a semi-trailer tractor accident on Interstate 80 near Council Bluffs. The Rosary was held Wednesday night, 9 p.m. at the Funeral home.

Murray was born Nov. 12, 1937 at Terril to John and Freda Murray and grew up and was educated in Estherville.

Survivors include his wife, Dixie, of Galt, Calif.; two sons, Donald and William, of Waltham, Mass.; one daughter, Mrs. Norman (Sheryl) Phinny, of Brockton, Mass., three stepsons, Carl John Poss, of Vallejo, Calif., Larry Lee Poss, of Spencer, and Craig Allen Poss of Arnolds Park; his mother, Mrs. Freda Murray, of Estherville; eight grandchildren; four brothers, Ralph and Charles of Estherville, John Jr., of San Antonio, Tex., and LeVern of Spencer; and one sister, Mrs. Aletha McDonald of Eugene, Ore.

The Henry and Olson funeral home of Estherville were in charge of the arrangements. Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. (Spirit Lake Beacon, Spirit Lake, IA, May 21, 1981)
