Mrs. Mudge Buried Wed.
Long Time Resident of Estherville Dies Tues. [Monday] Following Paralytic Stroke
Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Mudge, 77, were held yesterday afternoon at the Christian church at 2:30 with the Rev. Foster officiating. Short services were held at the house for relatives at 2 o’clock. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Mudge died Monday [June 3, 1935] afternoon at the Coleman hospital after an illness of several months. She has been in poor health for years and has been confined to the Coleman hospital since she suffered a stroke a few weeks ago.

Mrs. Mudge was born Jan. 23, 1858, in Marqueson [Markesan], Wis., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Russel [Russell]. At the age of 10 she moved to Blue Earth, Minn.; with her parents and in 1882 she was united in marriage to Charles Mudge. She came to Estherville with her husband and family 30 years ago and has lived here ever since.

She is survived by Mrs. Gilbert Flindt of Estherville, Charles Mudge of Chicago, Mrs. Thelma Ryder of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. H.P. Cart of Mason City. She is preceded in death by her husband and one daughter, Mrs. H. Moorehead. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, June 6, 1935)
