1881-1978
Lakeville, Conn. – Mrs. Winnifred E. [Winifred Elizabeth Williams] Morse, 96, of Lakeville, Conn., and formerly of Estherville, died March 29 following a short illness.Mrs. Morse was the wife of the late James W. Morse, a former attorney. Mr. Morse died in 1940 and Mrs. Morse moved from Estherville in 1952.
She was born in Mitchell County, Iowa, April 15, 1881, and was a graduate of Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. She was married to James Morse in 1903.
Mrs. Morse is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William (Olive) Boice, Winstom-Salem, N.C.; one son, John Morse, Lakeville, Conn.; three grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at the Congregational Church, Lakeville, Friday. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville, at a later date. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 3, 1978)

Estherville – Graveside services for Mrs. J.W. (Winifred) Morse, 96, Lakeville, Conn., and formerly of Estherville, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. The Rev. Harvey Throop of the Presbyterian Church will officiate.Mrs. Morse died earlier this year at her home in Lakeville. Cremation was held and her ashes have been brought to Estherville for interment.
Mrs. Morse was a long-time resident of Estherville, the wife of Attorney James Warren Morse, who died in 1940. She moved from Estherville in 195 to make her home with her son, John H. Morse, at Lakeville, where she has lived since.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, where she was active in church affairs and sang in the choir, and a past president of the PEO.
Mrs. Morse is survived by one daughter, Olive Boice, Winston-Salem, N.C., and one son, John Morse, Lakeville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 5, 1978)
