Mr. John A. Miller, resident of Estherville, Iowa, passed away at Iowa City, Iowa, Tuesday morning, December 20. Mr. Miller was taken to the hospital for treatment on November 10. On December 7 he underwent a very major operation. From that time on he kept up a very courageous fight to regain his health and strength, never ceasing to speak of the time when he would be able to return to his home. Mrs. Miller was at his bedside for eight days, and when he seemed to be recovering satisfactorily, she returned home. Encouraging reports continued to reach her daily.
It seems that there were however, during all this time, other plans for him, for on Monday evening, December 19, he took a very decided turn for the worse. His family was summoned, and after a night’s driving, they reached his bedside two hours before his passing.
