1882-1979
Estherville – Mrs. Mabel Story, 96, Estherville, died Thursday [April 12, 1979] morning at Rosewood Manor.

Services for Mrs. Story will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville, with the Rev. Max Goldman officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after noon on Sunday and until time of services Monday.

She was born Nov. 20, 1882, at Boyden, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emmet Finch. She attended Boyden schools and received her teaching degree from the Normal Training School.

She was married to Frederick B. Story on Oct. 1, 1903, at Orange City. The couple lived in Sioux Falls, S.D., until moving to Estherville in 1913.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Thelma) Rasmussen, Jackson, Minn., and Mrs. Cecil (Kathryn) Christiansen, Ringsted; three grandsons; and two great grandsons.

Mrs. Story was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, parents, adopted parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 13, 1979)
