Mesa, Ariz. – Harriet Mathieson, 89, formerly of Estherville, died at Mesa on May 3, 1990. Memorial services will be held in Estherville at a later date. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 9, 1990)

Mesa, Ariz. – Services for Harriet (Rae) Mathieson, 89, formerly of Estherville, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. John P. Besore, III officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Thursday, May 3, 1990 at her home in Mesa.

Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation.

She was born October 1, 1901 at Rudd, the daughter of Henry and Jennie (Nelson) Gallup and was a graduate of Hamilton Business College at Mason City. Following graduation she came to Estherville where she was employed as a bookkeeper. On Sept. 6 1922 she married Clarence J. Mathieson at Estherville. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Order of Eastern Star (56 years) and a member of White Shrine and Beauceant.

Survivors include two daughters: Dorothy Mathieson, Membroke, Mass. and Shirley Randolph, Mesa, Arizona; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; four sisters and three brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 13, 1990)
