Mrs. Adolphus Jenkins Dies
Mrs. Adolphus Jenkins [Lydia Ellen Davis Jenkins] died the 21st Inst in Portland, Oregon, at an advanced age.

Deceased with her husband was one of the first settlers in Estherville and pioneered here for many years. She was the mother of J.E. Jenkins, one of the former owners of the Republican, and also the mother of Mrs. Lathrop, one of the early settlers of Swan Lake. Three other sons and also Mrs. Lathrop now reside in the west. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 30, 1916)

Note: Mrs. Adolphus Jenkins is dead at a good old age and was a lovable character to the last. Lou Lathrop and her family are in Portland. Will H. Jenkins, the oldest of the boys is traveling passenger agent of the Southern Pacific railway and is very popular with all who know him. Not married. Ralph is married to a rich wife in Portland. He and she enjoy life pleasantly. They are fond of horseback riding and they take all the big prizes at the state fair in fancy riding and driving.
