Final Rites on Friday
Funeral services for Donovan Koenecke, 48, who died yesterday [June 28, 1966] at 7:40 a.m. from a heart attack, have been scheduled Friday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, Rev. Charles Buckwalter officiating.

Family services will be at 1:30 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Thursday until noon Friday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of services.

Donovan Edward Koenecke was born Nov. 4, 1918, in Estherville, the son of Edward and Nettie Koenecke. He attended Emmet Consolidated school.

Sept. 22, 1940, he was married to Harriett Holsclaw at West Bend. He farmed north of Estherville all his life.

M. Koenecke was a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Harriett, of rural Estherville; one son, Terry Donovan, presently stationed in France with the U.S. Air Force; one daughter, Patricia Sue, at home; and his mother, Mrs. Nettie Koenecke, at the Good Samaritan Center.

Mr. Koenecke was preceded in death by his father, an infant brother and an infant sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 29, 1966)
