George Kibbee
Estherville – Services for George G. [Grant] Kibbee, 97, of Estherville will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 20 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel, Estherville, with Rev. David Wendel presiding. Intermetn will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. He died Friday, January 17 at the Marion Health Center in Sioux City.

He was born on August 11, 1894 in Forest City, the son of Amos and Leslie (Kyvig) Kibbee and was educated in Forest City schools. He married Ruth Altha Tracey on October 7, 1920 in Marshalltown. He lived most of his life in the Estherville area and was employed with the Rock Island Railroad as a machinist for 37 years until 1959. He belonged to the United Methodist Church, the American Legion where he was a past commander. He was one of the last World War I veterans in Emmet County and will have a military service by the V.F.W. and American Legion.

He is survived by one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Don (Mary) Baines of Omaha, Neb. Other survivors include three grandchildren: Mrs. Allen (Rose) Roeder, Omaha, Neb.; Mark Fallon, Meade, Neb.; and Mrs. Randy (Julie) Grebenick, Omaha, Neb.; and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and one so, George T. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 20, 1992)
