William Hennick
Estherville – Services for William E. [Earl] Hennick, 70, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Berger officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with full military graveside services by the V.F.W. Post 3388 and American Legion Post 91. He died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 1989 at Bethesda Hospital, St. Paul, Minn. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born September 21, 1918 in Palo Alto County, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Ette (Henderson) Hennick and attended Terrill School. On April 21, 1941 he married Esther Walz at St. Paul, Minn., she died in August, 1965. He served in the United States Army during World War Two in the European Theatre with the 40th Engineers Division. Following service he worked for Fagre’s Construction in Estherville 32 years, retiring in Sept. 1980. On June 15, 1968 he married Frances Tiegs at Estherville.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; lifetime member of V.F.W. Post 3388 and Military Order of Cooties.

Survivors include his wife Frances, Estherville; five sisters: Beulah Linn and Mrs. Wilhelm (Ruth) Linn, Estherville; Bertha Mustard, Inver Grove Heights, Minn.; Mrs. Merle (Delma) Mercer, Nortonville, Kans. and Vera March, Blain, Minn.; three step-sons: Arnold Tiegs, Albert Lea, Minn.; Randy Teigs, Albert Lea, Minn.; Kevin Tiegs, Champlin, Minn.; three step-daughters: Mrs. Thomas (Donna) Thordson, Maplewood, Minn.; Mrs. John (Diane) Baer, Brooklyn Center, Minn. and Mrs. Jim (Darlene) Nielsen, Maple Grove, Minn.; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Esther, two brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 12, 1989)
