ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Dorothy Hamilton, 90, of Estherville will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at United Methodist Church in Estherville with Pastor Lynn Elrod officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville.

She died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.

Dorothy Lucille (Sharp), the daughter of Leon and Leafie C. (Ash) Sharp, was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Spirit Lake.

She graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1939.

After graduation from high school, Dorothy was employed in Spirit Lake by an attorney, R. S. Carlton. She also worked for Dickinson County in the Recorder's Office. She moved to Estherville in 1942 and was employed by DEK Rural Cooperative. On Aug. 25, 1946, Dorothy was united in marriage to Thomas Hamilton. The couple made their home in Estherville where they raised their family. Dorothy also sold World Book Childcraft, Avon Products and was employed by Bradshaw-Short Buick Garage. She worked at Iowa Trust and Savings Bank which later became First Interstate Bank and retired from there in 1986. Tom died Sept. 2, 1987.

Dorothy was a member of the United Methodist Church in Estherville and also the Order of The Eastern Star.

Left to cherish Dorothy's memory are her daughter, Lori Eike, of Tempe, Ariz.; two grandchildren, Joshua and Tyler Eike; and nieces and nephews, including, Becky Welch and her husband, Darrell, and Mike Hamilton.

Preceding Dorothy in death were her husband, Thomas; son, Thomas; one brother, Dr. Lloyd Sharp; sisters, Esther Anderson and Carolyn Kline; and son-in-law, Terry Eike. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 17, 2011)
