Dr. J.M. Fredericksen, Estherville Dentist, Dies
Dr. J.M. Fredericksen, 77, longtime Estherville dentist, died today at 5:40 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital. He had been hospitalized intermittently for the past several weeks.

Dr. Fredericksen had practiced dentistry for approximately 52 years, about the first two years of that time at Ringsted and for 50 years in Estherville.

James Martin Fredericksen was born Nov 21, 1890, at Des Moines, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Fredericksen. He received his elementary and high school education at Jewell and graduated from the University of Iowa with a D.D.S. degree in 1915.

He was married Sept. 2, 1932, to Olive Golla at Sioux Falls, S.D.

Dr. Fredericksen was a member of the B.P.O. Elks, the Masonic Lodge and Estherville Kiwanis.

He is survived by his widow, Olive; two sons, James M. and Jerry L., both of Estherville; a daughter, Mrs. Bartie (Janice) Stewart of Kenwick, Wash.; four grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Tena Olson of Morris, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Rev. H. Allen Wirtz officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Sunday until time of services Tuesday.

A memorial fund for the Emmet County Cancer Society has been established by the family.(Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 27, 1968)

Fredericksen included Mr. and Mrs. Archie Ericson and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Erickson, all of Minneapolis, Harry Golla and son, Bill of Spencer, and Mrs. Wendell Otto and Babrara of Cedar Rapids.
