Lars Fransdal, 65, Dies of Pneumonia
Lars Oliver Fransdal, 65, longtime resident of Emmet county, a native of Norway, died at Holy Family hospital this morning following a brief illness. He had been ill with virus pneumonia for 11 days and had been confined to the hospital since Saturday.

Born the son of Mr. and Mrs. K. Fransdal in Norway, he came to the United States in 1904 and settled near Lake Mills. On – 17, 1910 he was united in marriage to Johanna Stokkeboe at --. They lived near Lake Mills until 1913 when the family moved to Estherville and Mr. Fransdal got a job with the railroad.

The Fransdals have lived in Estherville since 1913. Mr. Fransdal was a member of the Estherville Lutheran church here. He is survived by his wife, two brothers, a sister, four children and 17 grandchildren. The brothers are – and Waldemar of Norway. The sister is Anna, also of Norway. The children are Waldemar, Nor--, Mrs. Glenn E. Olson of Estherville and Mrs. Vernon Tweedt of –don, N.D. He is preceded in death by his parents and one grandchild.

Fransdal Rites Friday
The body of Lars Oliver Fransdal will lie in state at the Sternborg funeral home all day Thursday and Thursday evening. The body will be taken to his home at 529 North Second street Friday morning until noon and then will be moved to the Estherville Lutheran church. The body will lie in state from 12:30 p.m. up to the time of the services. Services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. the Rev. L.G. Hinderaker officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. Fransdal died yesterday morning at Holy Family hospital at the age of 65. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 11, 1952)
