Estherville – Services for Glenn Herbert Crook, 79, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Wiegman officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery with military graveside rites. He died Friday, Jan. 6, 1984 at Holy Family Hospital.Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after 7 p.m. Monday evening (tonight).
Crook was born Aug. 12, 1904 at Des Moines, the son of Noah and Eura Crook. He was a graduate of Des Moines High School. After graduation he moved with his parents to Estherville. He served with the United States Army during World War Two in the European Theatre. On March 20, 1949 he was united in marriage with Vivian Vestrem at Jackson, Minn. The couple lived in Estherville where he owned and operated the Peoples Café and Annex for many years.
Crook was a Charter Member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and a 40 year member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Rose Bolty, Estherville and Mrs. Gladys Price, Sioux City; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 12, 1983; his parents; one sister and two brothers who were his triplet brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 9, 1984)
