Mrs. Augustus Case
Mrs. Augustus Case died in her home in this city at noon Thursday, November 23, after an illness of several weeks with typhoid fever. Her two sons recently recovered from a long illness with the fever and the mother was taken sick during their illness.

Mrs. Case, whose maiden name was Catherine Moffett, was born at Glasgow, Jefferson county, Iowa, January 22, 1847. She was married to Augustus Case March 22, 1866. The husband and three sons and a brother and sister survive. The sons are George, Winfield and Garfield Case, all of this city.

The funeral services were held in the Methodist Episcopal church Saturday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. T.S. Cole, and assisted by Rev. John Sutton of the Free Methodist church. The remains were interred in Oak Hill cemetery.

Mrs. Case joined with the Christian church early in life and since coming to Estherville has affiliated with the Methodist Episcopal church. She was a true and consistent Christian and her loss will be felt in this community which had for several years been her home. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, November 29, 1905)
