Services for Mrs. William (Jessie K.) Ramsey, 80, will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Gruver Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Neal Armstrong officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Friday, Feb 6, 1987 at her daughter's home in Fairmont, Minn. Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville after 3 p.m. Sunday.
Jessie Krieger was born Oct 4, 1906 at Lockport, Ill., the daughter of Frank and Tena (Murray) Krieger. She moved with her family to Emmet County at an early age and attended Gruver School, after graduating from high school, she attended Iowa State Normal School, and taught rural schools for many years. On Aug. 27, 1927 she was united in marriage with William Ramsey at Truman, Minn. the couple farmed in the Gruver and Estherville area until 1975 when they retired and moved into Estherville. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gruver, a church elder and taught Sunday School for many years.
Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. James (Jane) Anderson, North Pole, Alaska and Mrs. Edward (Mildred) Hanlon, Jr., Fairmont; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979, one daughter Geraldine; parents; one sister and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 7, 1987)
