Mrs. Schaad’s Brother Dead
Duluth Herald: The funeral of the late Frank E. Simar, 53 years of age, who died suddenly Sunday evening at his home, 403 east Third street, took place at two o’clock this afternoon from the Masonic Temple. Interment was at Forest Hill cemetery. Mr. Simar was a member of the Masonic order and the ritual of the order was followed. He was one of the prominent civil engineers of the northwest. For the last year he had been engaged as a division engineer on the construction work of the Canadian Northern, which is running into this city. Previous to that he was chief engineer of the Keneewau Central and for the last thirty years was identified with different railway systems in Minnisota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. His brother, V. D. Simar, is chief engineer of the Duluth South Shore & Atlantic.

The late Mr. Simar was an active member of the American Railway engineering association as well as of several Masonic bodies and was recognized as a man of sterling character and one of the leading men of his profession, being one of the old guard in northwestern railroad work.

Beside his brother, who resides at Marquette, Mich., he is survived by his wife, W.R. Simar at Kinsan, Neb., Mrs. Nettie Schaad, Estherville, Ia., Mrs. Alice Thompson, Rock Rapids, Ia., Mrs. W.W. Gardner, Rock Rapids, Geo. Simar, White Rock, South Dakota. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 17, 1911)
