Services for Dorothy Barg, 88, of Estherville will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. She died Tuesday, October 22, 1996 at the Good Samaritan Center. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 25, hours 4-6 pm. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 23, 1996)

Estherville – Services for Dorothy A. Barg, 88, of Estherville will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville with the Rev. Larry Willey of Unite Methodit Church officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Estherville. She died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 1996 at Good Samaritan Center in Estherville.

Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

She was born May 4, 1908 at Estherville, the daughter of Evan and Sadie (Peters) Lohr. She attended Estherville schools and graduated from high school in 1925. She then went to the University of Iowa graduating in 1929. She taught school in Gruver, Dickens and North English before moving to Springfield, Ill., where she taught social studies 27 years. She retired in 1971 and returned to Estherville. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Illinois Teachers Association.

Survivors include a son Gordon Barg of Anderson, Ind.; grandson: Robert Barg, Dallas, granddaughter: Lisa Barg, Indianapolis;, and great grandchildren Courtney, Kristen and Taylor Barg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Don Lohr. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 25, 1996)
