Estherville – Mrs. Logan (Violette Marguerite) Anderson, 83, Estherville, died Thursday [December 18, 1979] at the Good Samaritan Center, where she had been a resident for the past year.

Services for Mrs. Anderson will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home, Estherville. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home until time of services.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Reid, she was born Jan. 24, 1896, in DuPage County, Illinois. She came to Emmet County with her family and attended elementary school in Emmet County but returned to Lockport, Ill., to attend high school.

She was married to Orlando Logan Anderson at Forest city on Dec. 10, 1912. The couple lived in Gruver when first married but came to Estherville in 1929, where they have lived since. She was a member of the Estherville First Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by one son, William O. Anderson, Estherville; one daughter, Mrs. Deemer (Everyld) Lee, Estherville; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Roy Merriott, Estherville; and one brother, W.J. Reid, Ringsted.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 21, 1979)
