William Donald Carrison was born November 5, 1912, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Percy and Theo Alina (Grinde) Carrison. He died October Friday, October 12, 2007, at the Good Samaritan Care Center in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 94 years, 11months and 7 days..

He attended Estherville High School. On March 29, 1936, he was united in marriage to Leona Helmich in Estherville.

Bill worked on a farm around Armstrong for a few years and moved to Estherville in 1940. He then worked at Richard Zitterich’s Garage as mechanic and John Morrell Meat Packing plant retiring after thirty-six years.

He is survived by seven children, Dorothy Weir and her husband, Bob of Estherville; Marlene Van Bibber and her husband, Roy of Shawnee, Kansas; Harold Carrison and his wife, Shirley of Mexico, Missouri; Dennis Carrison and his wife, Yvonne of LaVista, Nebraska; Shirley Linn; LaVonne Killmer and her husband, Gary all of Estherville; William (Bill) Carrison, Jr. and his wife, Connie of Overland Park, Kansas; seventeen grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; brother, Arnold Carrison and his wife, Jan of Windom, Minnesota and sister, Esther Sampson of St. Peter, Minnesota.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Leona; daughter, Darlene; son, Richard; grandson, Raymond Weir; one great-grandson, Brent Weir; one great-granddaughter; and sister Alice Helmich. (MC)
