Following an illness of four months duration, Mrs. Frank Coughlin passed quietly away at the family home in this city [St. James, MN] last Saturday evening [January 1, 1921] at 11:45. High blood pressure was assigned as the cause of death and deceased had suffered intensely for many weeks before death came to relieve her.

Ella Noonan was born at Seneca, Ill. March 10, 1871. She was united in marriage to Frank Coughlin in that city in 1893 and for fifteen years they lived there, removing to Estherville, Iowa to make their home. Six years ago Mr. Coughlin bought the beautiful farm on the banks of Long Lake, known as the Long Lake farm and moved his family here to make their home. About a year ago they turned the farm over to their eldest son, Edmund, and moved to St. James where the wife and mother passed away last Saturday evening.

Besides the sorrowing husband, seven children are left to mourn the death of a loving mother, William, the eldest, having preceded her to the great beyond seven years ago. The survivors are Edmund, on the Long Lake farm, Walter and Thomas at home, Mrs. Vern DeLapp of this city, Genevieve, Anna and Helen, also at home. To each and all of these a host of friends turn in tender sympathy as they mourn the death of wife and mother.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Fr. Meyers at the Catholic church in this city Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock and the remains were shipped to Estherville, Iowa, to be laid to rest beside those of the son who had preceded the mother.

Relatives from a distance who were in attendance at the last sad rites were Mrs. Anna Brady and Mrs. T. W. Tibbs, sisters, Michael Noonan, brother, all of Highmore, S.D., John Noonan, another brother of Webb, Iowa. Frank Brady, a nephew, of Minneapolis; Wm. Devaney of Chicago and Frank Devaney of Ottawa, Ill., nephews; and Thos. Coughlin, a cousin of Mr. Coughlin, of Mankato. (St. James Independent, St. James, MN, January 6, 1921).
