Last Rites Held Wednesday for Merritt Burton
Funeral services for Merritt Burton, 93, of Estherville were held at 2 p.m. from the Mahlum and Sandin chapel with the Rev. Cecil J. Semans officiating. Burial was made in the East Side cemetery.

Merritt Burton was born in New York state January 1, 1851 and passed away at the Emmet county farm Sunday night, April 30. He had made his home at Estherville for twenty-six years and was preceded in death by his wife several years ago.

He is survived by one son, William, of Estherville, one daughter, Elsie McMenamey of Stillwater, Minn., two grandchildren, Alberta Bommelman and Sadie Zelse of Estherville, one niece, Mrs. Clifford Parsons of Spencer, and three great grandchildren.
