ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Alma Christine Barlow, 97, Estherville, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Val Hauck officiating and burial at the Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Saturday [April 5, 1975] afternoon at Holy Family Hospital.
Mrs. Barlow was born Dec. 30, 1867 in Sweden to Nels and Sigrid Newman Bloomquist, and came to the U.S. as a young girl with her parents. She was educated in rural Terril schools and was married to John L. Barlow March 30, 1896 in Estherville. She had lived in Estherville since her marriage and was a member of the Union Baptist Church.
Survivors inclde two sons, Milton and Carl Barlow, Estherville; three daughters, Mrs. Corry (Nellie) Haas, Mrs. Joe (Gladys) Sifrit and Mrs. Louis (Mable) Hoffmeyer, all of Estherville; 25 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; two sister, Mrs. Axel Lyon, Dunnell, Minn.; and Mrs. Harry Ziemer, Fairmont, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons and one daughter.
