Estherville – Services for Wayne W. Welton, 80, of Estherville, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at First Christian Church with the Rev. Dr. Mike Thiel officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. He died Monday, Jan. 25, 1993 at Good Samaritan Center. Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Sept. 1, 1912 at Wiota, the son of Ralph and Gertrude (Bell) Welton and received his education in Cass County School. On Dec. 25, 1933 he was united in marriage with Dorothy Pierson at Papillion, Nebr. The couple lived at Atlantic, Oakland, Ogden and Garner before moving to Estherville in 1941 where he was employed by Northern Natural Gas and later Peoples Natural Gas for 41 9ears. He retired in 1973.l He has lived at the Good Samaritan Center since Dec. 4, 1989.

He was a member of the First Christian Church; North Star Lodge No. 447 and the Sioux City Shrine Club.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy of Estherville; son, James of Algona; daughter, Mrs. Bill (Marilyn) Beaver, Monticello, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce of Roseville, Calif.; sisters: Mrs. Merlin (Ethel) Sorensen, Council Bluffs; Ruth Blohn, Atlantic and Mrs. Rex (Betty) Parker, Delta, Colo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 27, 1993)
