Rites today for Fenton woman, 82
Fenton – Mrs. Otto Menz, 82, Fenton, died Saturday in Holy Family hospital at Estherville. She had been ill for more than a year and had entered the hospital Friday.

Mrs. Menz was born Katharina Schulenburg, April 19, 1881 just after her parents arrived in the United States from Germany. She grew up in the Lotts Creek neighborhood and in 1902 was married to Henry Reimer. He died July 4, 1913.

In 1922 she was married to Otto Menz and continued to live on his farm here miles south of Fenton following his death in 1934.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, three brothers and two sons. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Shelby (Frieda) Weisbrod, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Francis (Anna) Ware of Estherville, two sons, Louis Reimer of South Milwaukee, Wis., and Edward Reimer, rural Fenton, and one brother, Herman Schulenburg, Dallas, Texas. Also nine grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Funeral services, in charge of Thomas funeral chapel in Fenton will be held on Tuesday, at St. John’s Lutheran church in Fenton. The Rev. Walter H. Friedrich will officiate. Burial will be in the Fenton Methodist cemetery. (Kossuth County Advance, Algona, IA, August 6, 1963)
