Last Rites Saturday for Richard Ihlan
Funeral services for Richard M. Ihlan, 74, a former Estherville resident were held Saturday afternoon at Mesa, Ariz., where he had made his home for the past three years. He died Tuesday night of a heart attack.Ihlan was born May 30, 1889, in Pipestone, Minn., and he received his education there. He was married to the former Edna Kilgore and they lived in Estherville where he was employed as a salesman for Gamble-Robinson Company. She died 16years ago and their daughter, Janice, died nine years ago. He married the former Anna Quastad and they farmed south of Estherville until three years ago at which time they moved to Arizona.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, a veteran of World War I, and while he lived in Estherville he was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his widow, one grandson, Craig Tvedte of Estherville, and one brother, Henry, of Pipestone, Minn. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 8, 1963)
Note: most likely buried in Mesa, AZ., where Anna was later buried.
