Heart Attack Fatal to Lucius Tone
Lucius H. Tone, 69, lifetime resident of this area, died at 7:55 last night at his home here. In failing health for the past six years, death was due to a heart attack.

Mr. Tone was born June 3, 1889 at Spirit Lake, the son of William and Jennie Tone. He moved with his Heart Attack Fatal to Lucius Tone
Lucius H. Tone, 69, lifetime resident of this area, died at 7:55 last night at his home here. In failing health for the past six years, death was due to a heart attack.

Mr. Tone was born June 3, 1889 at Spirit Lake, the son of William and Jennie Tone. He moved with his parents to Estherville at the age of six and received his education here. On Feb. 2, 1911 he was united in marriage to Jessie Butcher at Jackson, Minn.

A former conductor on the Rock Island, Mr. Tone began railroading in 1909 and retired in 1952 because of ill health. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and also was a member of Masons and White Shrine.

He is survived by his wife, Jessie; one son, Clifton, of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Allen of Estherville and Mrs. George Kuhlavy of Indian Lake Estate, Fla.

Mr. Tone was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Tone Rites Are Set
Funeral services for Lucius H. Tone, 69, lifetime resident of this area, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Sternborg Funeral Chapel, the Rev. James Lyon of First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be at East Side cemetery with Masonic graveside rites to be conducted. Friends may call at the Sternborg Funeral Home beginning this afternoon. Mr. Tone died of a heart attack Sunday evening at his home. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 28, 1958)
