Owen David Theophilus
Estherville – Services for Owen David (O.D.) Theophilus, Jr., 70, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 6 at First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with Rev. Dr. John P. Besore, III officiating. Interment will be in the East Side Cemetery. Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville 4-9 p.m. Monday. He died Friday, November 2 at Holy Family Hospital.

He was born August 10, 1920 in Jackson, Minn., the son of Owen David and Catherine (Williams) Theophilus, Sr. and was educated in Jackson schools. He married Lorraine Sampson on May 6, 1944 in Jackson, Minn. and served in the U.S. Army Air Force in Alaska and the Aleutian Islands during WWII. He lived in Jackson, Minn. before moving to Estherville in 1949. He was employed with Golden Sun Feeds for 25 years and was the personnel director for many years retiring in 1985. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge, VFW and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife Lorraine of Estherville, one daughter, Mrs. David (Nancy) Anderson of Sonora, California and one daughter-in-law, Cynthia Theophilus of Granger, Indiana. He is also survived by four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son, Tom Theophilus, his parents and one brother, Richard. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 5, 1990)
